The Evolution of Alpha Gamma Iota Mu: From Greek Sorority to Rainbow Essence Society Sisterhood
Alpha Gamma Iota Mu began its journey in 2021 as a Greek organization founded within the virtual world of Second Life. Initially conceived as a traditional sorority, the organization's early momentum was unfortunately short-lived, leading to a temporary hiatus.

During this period, the founder redirected their efforts towards assisting another organization. However, when that venture did not materialize as hoped, attention returned to Alpha Gamma Iota Mu. This introspection, coupled with years of experience within Second Life's Greek community, brought a crucial realization: the true essence of sisterhood often seemed absent in many traditional Greek organizations, frequently overshadowed by individualistic pursuits and a focus on numerical growth over genuine connection.

Driven by a desire to cultivate authentic unity and support, a transformative decision was made. On March 17, 2025, Alpha Gamma Iota Mu was officially relaunched and reimagined as a non-Greek entity, proudly becoming the Rainbow Essence Society Sisterhood. This pivotal shift reflects a renewed commitment to fostering true sisterhood and unity within Second Life, aiming to create a vibrant and supportive community where genuine bonds can flourish
